We’re seeking a School Psychologist for a Full-Time Contract opportunity working in Fairbanks, AK.

Fairbanks is situated close to the confluence of the Tanana and Chena rivers in Fairbanks North Star Borough. It's the second largest city in the state of Alaska and is home to Pioneer Park.

Pioneer Park incudes attractions such as a restored gold rush town, the Alaska Centennial for the Arts, the Tanana Valley Railroad Museum and the Pioneer Air Museum. The sternwheeler, SS Nenana has been converted to a noteworthy museum. The Crooked Creek and Whiskey Island Railroad travels through the park.

The Riverboat Discovery is recognized as one of the best tours in Fairbanks. The sternwheel riverboat takes visitors on a scenic tour of the Chena and Tanana rivers. 

School Psychologist Opportunity Details:

  • Anticipated start date: 8/15/2019 (2019-2020 School Year)
  • Anticipated salary range: Commensurate with experience
  • Anticipated schedule: Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week
  • Age ranges from elementary to high school

School Psychologist Responsibilities:  

  • To promote students’ educational success and sense of self-worth.
  • To promote positive attitudes about and toward special education.
  • To promote professional unity and team work.
  • To assist the district’s Special Education Department in meeting audit and compliance standards.
  • Additional responsibilities available upon request.

School Psychologist Qualifications:

  • Graduated from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program or have completed an APA accredited internship.
  • Psychology – PhD or PsyD with licensure in good standing for State of practice.
  • Alaska certificate with state-approved endorsement as a school psychologist.
  • Experience in development and implementation of IEP’s
  • 2 or more years of experience in a school setting working with students.
